Welcome to the Science of light

 Hi Everyone,

This page will help you understand how to navigate through the lesson. Watch the introductory video before you start the journey through Light 💡

Curriculum Link:

Light can form images using the reflective feature of curved mirrors and the refractive feature of lenses, and can disperse to produce a spectrum which is part of a larger spectrum of radiation (VCSSU105)

Topic: Light Energy

Learning intention: We are learning about Light Energy

Success criteria:

I will be successful when I can:

  • Recall the features of the wave
  • Understand the nature of the Lightwave
  • Explain how light waves travel through different lenses
  • Explore the use of radio wave
We have completed tuning into sound waves in our last lesson. Here we will take a journey through light energy.

Learning tasks:

Here is the list of activities that you will engage in during your lesson time. Complete the readings and activities assigned to you in each topic.

1. Waves: Here, you will watch a video, complete a match activity and take part in a collaborative activity.

2. Nature of light wave: In this topic, you will watch a video and complete an activity on PhET simulation.

3. Lenses and Light: This page has interesting infographics for a detailed understanding of how glasses work. Read through the resources that will help you prepare for the research project coming up this term.

4. Radio waves: Here you watch the video and take part in a whole classroom collaborative activity.

5. Mini-test: Complete the mini-test and master your understanding of electromagnetic waves.

If you have any questions regarding your learning tasks or lesson content, you can email me or ask me in our online class.

Be safe and have fun!
Ms Pathak
